I prefer this noodle..its smells of Green Tea and tastes even better when its soaked in warm Japanese Soya Sauce
I bought this from Jason's Marketplace at S$10.40
Ingredients
350g Plain Flour
1 tsp Japanese Green Tea Powder
250ml water
1 tsp salt
tapioca flour for dusting
Method
1. Mix flour, salt and green tea powder together in a mixing bowl.
2. Add water to stir till it forms into a dough.
3. Break into smaller portions to run thru the machine until it comes out smooth.
4. Run it thru the cutters.
5. dust with Tapioca flour to prevent it from sticking together. _________________ Gina

What do you think will happen if we put in the bakeable green tea powder? Will it spoil the taste? Maybe I should give it a try since I have so much at home. _________________ Correction may mould but encouragement will motivate |

I don't know! My small bottle of Bakable Green Tea powder has since expired---it smells funny so I junk it.
This Japanese version, I suspect is a higher/better quality. I remember reading that its also use for making Green Tea Ice Cream. And the bakeable one cannot be use for Ice cream making. _________________ Gina

I see. Maybe I'll try just a small portion with the bakeable green tea. Don't even know where to look for this other green tea powder. _________________ Correction may mould but encouragement will motivate |

I'll look out for it. At the mean time, I'll try out with the bakeable one first. I have a bottle & I don't bake. I just use it for mochi & things like that. _________________ Correction may mould but encouragement will motivate |

Alannia, you make your own mochi? Where did you find your green tea powder? |

Yes, I made the mochi. I bought the bakeable green tea powder from PH Singapore. But now I see it at Bake with Yen or Chang Thung (can't remember which shop). _________________ Correction may mould but encouragement will motivate |

The mochis are quite easy to make but the wrapping is a bit of a nightmare for me. My wrapping skills are not up to par. That's why....
This is the link to Bake with Yen. You can look for the nearest branch to you. I think the Taman Megah one is nearest to you. Chang Thung is on the same row as BWY Taman Megah , just at the other end.
