Hi, I planning to do MMF 2 tiered cake for a birthday. I have tried normal pound and butter based cake but i find it too heavy and dense. Anyone has gt nice moist cake recipe to share thats not too sweet and yet can hold the weight of fondant and the weight of upper tier cake? (6"). Has anyone tried the perfect carrot cake recipe posted in this forum? Does it hold well? Or how can we modified the sponge cake recipe to make it more sturdy? Thanks!! Very Happy

Sponge cakes are not ideal for fondant cake. You can try fruit cake?
