The oil you see on the plate is from the bean paste and from the sesame oil. It goes great on warmed rice. I usually keep this oily gravy to toss with noodles.
Another dish we grew up loving. But its only when I was a little older I was able to appreciate its spiciness. Before that, I wasn't into spicy food.
Ingredients
1 packet(box) of Silken Tofu
100g minced pork
1 tsp chopped garlic
Seasoning
2 tbsp Spicy Bean Paste(I use Lee Kum Kee brand)
1 tbsp Sesame oil
1 chilli padi, deseeded, chopped
1 tsp sugar
Method
1. In a small bowl, add minced pork and seasonings to mix. Leave it aside to marinated for 10 minutes.
2. Heat up wok with corn oil(about 1 tbsp) and add chopped garlic to saute till fragrant.
3. Add minced pork and seasonings into stir fry till cooked.
4. Lastly add tofu and briefly stir using a spatula. Cook on high heat for 1 minute
5. Dish out and serve. _________________ Gina
