|...and I'm proud to say it tastes very close,or I would say,in fact, the same as hers...
Except for the fact that I added some vinegar,I like a hint of sourness in my salads.
I triple this recipe for big parties.
1 head of cabbage, trimmed and finely shredded, chilled in an airtight container.
10 cherry tomatoes, quartered
1/2 tsp mixed Italian herbs
1/2 a torch ginger flower, finely shredded, freeze the rest for later
1 tbsp apple cider or lemon wine vinegar
1 tsp sugar
2 tbsp mayonnaise
Salt and fresh crushed black pepper to taste
Bacon bits to sprinkle
Make this JUST before serving,if you make in advance and leave it,it will wilt and exude liquid.
Mix vinegar, sugar, torch ginger, herbs and tomatoes together. Season to taste with salt and pepper, add in mayonnaise and stir briskly to combine smoothly, stir in 1 tbsp bacon bits.
Toss with chilled cabbage, taste and check seasoning.
Sprinkle more bacon bits over, serve immediately.
I can resist everything except temptation.
