|
|
Finally got this right. But I still need to figure out the different colourings, flavours and sweetness. The gummy bear texture is exactly the same like the ones we can get outside.
I've made several others using the existing chocolate moulds I have. Using the same blueberry flavour and just one colour only. Will try tomorrow with mixture of colours to see if it sets properly.
but for now, here is the basic recipe
Ingredients
85g flavoured Gelatin powder(I used Jello brand)
2 tbsp unflavoured/plain Gelatin powder
125ml water
Method
1. Put all the ingredients into a pot and heat over the fire(low heat)
2. Stir till everything is melted.
3. Do not boil.
4. Leave aside to cool.
5. Lightly oiled plastic molds with vegetable oil(I use corn oil)
6. Pour melted gelatin into it.
7. Leave it in the freezer for 5 mins only.
8. Remove from freezer and pull out the gummy bear from the mold.
Storage
Put in a plastic container or plastic bag to keep.
Keep away from direct sunlight.
Does not need to be store in Fridge.
Notes
Using prepared/premix Jello mix is easier.
If not, you have to buy large packs of unflavoured Gelatin powder.
I have not try it with Jelly powder(Halal versions) yet. _________________ Gina

Wow Gina, looks so good. I have 2 packs of jelly powder at home, perhaps I can try the recipe one day and see if it works as a substitute for Jello. |

Thanks. |

you can still use your existing choco moulds.just don't pour all in. Just pour 1/3 only to make it flatter. Depending on the depth of the mould..you can either pour 1/2 or 1/3. _________________ Gina

yes..its premix with sugar. so this gummy bear is just enough sweet..not extremely sweet like those sold outside. _________________ Gina

Gina, your gummy bear is feeling so blue and lonely. So I am sending some friends over to cheer him up!

I made double your recipe. That means a whole box of 170gm Jello. Everything doubled but I added 1 gelatine leaf (from PH), 1 tbsp sugar and 1/2 tsp citric acid.
The result was a chewier gummy.
I purposely left the rest in the fridge and it tasted even nicer. Like that Haribo gummies. _________________ Ginny

Not sure if you have tried this using crystal jelly, but my daughter just tried it yesterday using flavoured crystal jelly and it turned out well. I too could not find Jello flavoured gelatin powder. |

Thank you Gina, I got my molds today and I am eager to try them.
How much did you add to each mold ... say 1 or 2 teaspoons of jelly?
The bear doesn't seem to be too fat  |

this mould is very flat..not deep. About 2 tbsp.
depending on the moulds you have, you may need to add 2 to 4tbsp _________________ Gina

My molds are 4 cm diameter and 3 cm deep.
Kind of deep for gummies.
But I'll see what I can do when I make them. I am waiting for my nephew to come back from Mexico to have fun. |
