The steps :
-------------

1. Remove heads and entrails from ikan bilis, leaving the bones.
2. Soak and rinse the ikan bilis a few times to lessen the saltiness
3. Dry the ikan bilis thoroughly.
4. Heat the wok and toast the ikan bilis. No need for any oil.
5. Toast till light brown.
6. Leave it to cool then grind them to powder form.

I will make them and store them in a airtight container and keep it in the fridge.
Scoop about 1/2 to 1 tsp and sprinkle onto baby's porridge.

when I was expecting, I loved soft boiled eggs (half boiled), instead of soya sauce, I sprinkled some ikan bilis powder on it. YUMMY!!!!

i thought pregnant women and young children (less than 1 yr) are not supposed to eat soft boiled egg?

at 4mths, better not. introduction of any kind of processed foods are best introduced after 6 mths. My mom started our girls at 10 mths.

I actually gave ikan bilis powder after 1yo. Don't quite like the idea of giving sodium at such a young age. for 4 mths old, it's best to serve food plain. You don't want them to acquire a "sweet" tooth now and reject all bland food later.
