Spanish Rice

1/2 cup chopped onion
1, 1/2 tablespoons chopped green pepper
1 tablespoon butter or margarine
1, 1/4 cups canned tomatoes, undrained and chopped
1 whole clove
1 small bay leaf
1 teaspoon sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup cooked rice

Saute onion and green pepper in butter in a skillet until tender. Stir
in next 5 ingredients; simmer 12 to 15 minutes or until most of the
liquid is absorbed. Remove clove and bay leaf; stir in rice.
