Ingredient:
1/2 kg chicken (best to use fillet)-cut into pieces
1/2 tsp chilli powder
1/2 tsp turmeric powder
a pinch of salt
Mix the above & marinate for 10 min

Grind together without water:
3-4 tbsp chilli paste
1/2 of large tomato
2 pip garlic
1 big onion
1 inch ginger
1 inch fresh turmeric(or 1/2 tsp turmeric powder)
Use water only if needed; this must be a thick paste

9-10 lemon leaves (or daun limau purut)
1 tbsp custard powder
oil for frying
1 1/2 tbsp sugar
salt to taste

Method:
1) Mix custard powder with the chicken, coating evenly. Fry until 1/2
cooked.
2) Use 3 tbsp of the chicken fried oil and fry the chilli paste, together with
the lemon leaves on low heat, stirring always.
3) Add the fried chicken and mix well. Pour some water until the chicken
is covered. Add salt. Cover and cook for 5-10 min.
4) Lastly add sugar. If needed, adjust the salt and sugar according to
your taste.

Note: If lemon leaves are unavailable, can use 2-3 tbsp lemon juice. Pour
at the final stage.
