I always had some 200 g of home made hae bee hiam in the fridge. So I can easily whip up any dishes with it as and when I wanted. Makes cooking fun..not a chore!

For the Hae Bee hiam recipe, see below

Ingredients:
3 tbsp of prepared Hae Bee Hiam paste
300 g water spinach(local name is Kang Kong)
1 tbsp corn oil
1 tsp sugar
30 ml water

Method:
1. In a wok, add corn oil to heat.
2. Add hae bee hiam and stir fry.
3. Add sugar and water to mix.
4. Add washed/cut vegetables and stir fry for 2 to 3mins.
5. Remove and serve immediately

Notes:
Water spinach cooks very easily. Don't over cooked it.

Hae Bee Hiam Recipe:
Ingredients:
150 g dried shrimps(soak in water to soften,)
20 pc Dried chilli(soak to soften)
10 g belachan(grilled)
10 pcs small red onions
6 cloves of garlic
100 g sugar

Method:
1. using a blender, blend soften shrimps first.
2. Remove and set aside.
3. Blend the rest of the ingredients.
4. Toss and mix chilli and shrimps together.
5. Heat up a wok with 5 tbsp oil.
6. Add shrimps mix and sugar and fry till fragant and oil is absorbed into the mix.
7. Let it cool completely before storing in air tight jar.

Notes:
You can store this in the fridge for upto 1 month. And use this for many many Asian dishes including bread/bun.

Thanks again Gina. Yes, you may say I'm stalking your recipes as I found them too irresistable. I'm living in UK now, it's really hard to get Sporean food unless I cook them myself... hence recipe 'stalking' Very Happy

Regards,
Yvonne
