From the photos I see here, the mandarin peels are quite light in colour. The ones I got was dark brown. Wonder is the peel was kept for quite some time by the seller.....

Tried this. It's nice and crunchy on the first day but became too soft the next day. Maybe I sliced too thin. Best eaten soon after marinating.

tried this recipe, yummy, sure a keeper! thanks for sharing...
for a start, i used one guava and a packet of the orange peel (coz i forgot the recipe as it's stored in my pc, i just relied on my memory). will try to do more the next time with the chilly...i think i just marinated for a few hours at room temperature as i got sensitive teeth...it's just nice..

simple recipe, but amazing results, thanks yvne...

My gosh! This recipe is to die for!!! I made the 1st batch a week ago. Every since then, both my husband and my 2 year old has been "searching" for it!!!

I keep a batch in the fridge for them to nibble all the time now. I have even did a switch up ... using Fuji Apples. Can out delicious, too. Will try with Green apples next time. Should be good, too.

Thanks for the recipe!

Hi all,

I've tried this out... OMG.. I got to say.. it's really yummy! I couldn't wait to try it.. So I think I only marinated it for 2 hrs.. Then by the 4th hr, the whole tub was cleared!

Thanks Yves for sharing this lovely recipe!!

P.S: My dad commented that it tasted like Archa. Keke!

Check out my marinated guavas at:

He he I did this with a twist during CNY. I used cherry tomato, green mango and the dark coloured seedless preserved plums ( the sweet type bought from the tit bits stall at IMM). Feedback from my family and guest ""OUT OF THIS WORLD)

Finally found this preserved mandarin peel but not a Jiabao Brand. The registered trade mark is that of a golden eagle. Will this taste as good?
Has anyone tried with this brand. Thanks. yummy
