You can use the chicken stock you have made and kept in the freezer for this easy meal.

Ingredients:
2 bowls of cooked macaroni
4 bowls of rich chicken stock
10 fresh fish balls
1 bunch of Chye Sim vegetables(wash, cut into smaller sections)
1 cup cooked chicken fillet(shred)

Method:
1. boil chicken stock in a sauce pot till boiling.
2. Add fish balls to cook.
3. Add cooked macaroni and vegetables to the soup and cook for 5 mins.
4. Add salt to taste.
5. Turn off stove.
6. To serve, scoop soup and ingredients in a bowl.
7. Add chicken shreds on top.

oops..apologies..realised I didn't say how to. I always teach my maid how to do this..so these days I don't cook it anymore..i just tell her how many cups to cook.

To get 2 bowls of cooked macaroni, you need 1 cup of raw macaroni.

Ingredients:
1 cup of raw macaroni
500 ml water

Method:
1. Boil water in a pot.
2. When it is boiling, add macaroni.
3. Cook over medium heat for 10 mins or when macaroni turns soft or light yellow or beige in colour.
4. Drain and discard hot water.

This is also the same way you cook spaghetti noodles.

no..I won't laugh at you. I was like you after my marriage. And moving into my own flat with my hubby. I can't even cook rice without burning it or making it into porridge! Embarassed I dare not even venture into baking coz i can't even cook a decent meal without burning it.

no one is born with instant cooking or baking skills. Everyone starts from burnt food. Then learn as they go along.

so don't be shy to ask basic questions. I wished someone would start a board like mine when I was struggling back then.

yes..Woman..must win!

This reminds me so much of myself 5 years ago when I got married and have a baby.

Like you, I have not cooked in my life nor did I take Home economics during my secondary school days.

I remember those days when I have to cook porridge for my son. Often my son will be yelling at the top of his voice for porridge. Somehow, don't know why the porridge always burnt and I end up feeding him with the baby cereal. Now, I pride myself for able to cook porridge without it burnt  though it might not taste nice  Am still learning.

Hi

How do you cook cooked chicken fillet as per the last ingredient in your chicken Macroni soup recipe? Which part of the chicken you use? Chicken Thigh or Drumstick or breastmeat? Put the chicken the boil and shred? If need to boil, boil for how long?

Thks

oops! Embarassed my fault for not explaining that.

I use the chicken breast meat. Can get from NTUC either fresh type or frozen type. Just boil in the chicken stock for 10 mins. Remove and shred it.

The chicken stock must be boiling hot before you put the raw chicken fillet.
