Sour soups

Meat (lamb, veal, beef, chicken, rabbit) boil in water enough to cover the meat with 1 teaspoon of salt. Simmer at low for 1 hour or until tender and easy fall of the bone, if any.
Beef and lamb may take longer than that so boil for an additional 1 hour.

While meat is slowly coming to a boil

They look fantastic,Vi!
Thanks for sharing!!
Very Happy

Interesting that you call it sour soup, does it really taste sour or the 1/2 lemon is just used to 'prepare' the taste buds for the next course...

Stef, I only gave the recipe with 1/2 the lemon... we are used with more than that.
In Romania we use what we call "bors" or "borsch" instead of lemon.

I only wanted to be conservative in order to be more like for your taste.
I have no idea how tolerant is your taste about sour.

Feel free to add more if you like it.
But this soups should be on the sour side.

Uncooked... and added to the meat mixture.
I've changed the recipe... to be more clear.
