|
|
Ingredients
3 tbsp dried Osmanthus flowers
300ml Distilled White Vinegar(S&W brand)
Method
1. Pour vinegar into a sauce pot and heat over the stove for 5 mins(low heat).
2. Turn off the heat and leave it to cool.
3. Add flowers into it and pour into the bottle and seal with a cork.
4. Leave it to stand for 3 weeks in a warm and bright place.
5. Use the vinegar as according to each recipe.
The vinegar will turn into a light yellow tint.
You don't have to freeze it. It can be kept outside the fridge, away from direct heat. Store in a dry, cool place.
This is great for marinating red meats. _________________ Gina

Thanks for asking, Gina. I have a bottle of the dry flowers. Jo sent through my colleague when he went for training. Do you have the osmanthus sugar? I remember someone said that the ones in sugar are more fragrant than the dried ones.
Do you want me to bank into your POSB account? I can ask my Singapore accounts to help me do it. Just let me know how much is everything.
How do you do it in S'pore? In Malaysia, we have to put in the account no & also the payee's name. _________________ Correction may mould but encouragement will motivate |

Gina,
Do we put in the flowers while it's still warm or completely cool?
Can I just leave the bottle on the dining table? It's quite bright there but no direct sunlight. Is it ok? _________________ Correction may mould but encouragement will motivate |

must be cooled before you put the flowers in. can leave it anywhere in the house as long as its not under direct heat(stove) or sunlight. _________________ Gina
