Silicon if purchased from a reputable firm and approved by FDA (USA), Health Canada and European Health bodies ( Could someone in Europe tell me what it is as I'm not familiar with Europe) is safe but I wouldnt buy any from other countries that are not monitored.

Hi PutuPiring my gal!!! how are you?? well my dh said the same thing about steaming in plastic moulds that I got long time ago from singapore and I only buy silicon from the so call reputable or approved by the french authorities and the only silicon bake and steam ware I have besides from here is from spain and I received a dirty stare from dh.

Not sure if anyone is still looking for the plastic moulds. These moulds can be purchased from Sunlik, behind Raffles Hotel. Quite cheap, think 2 dozens cost around $5.
