This is not a mistake... I actually found this recipe in the internet and tried out before... It's a foolproof recipe!
A
1 cup plain flour
2 tsp baking powder
B
6 tbsp butter
1/3 cup semi sweet choc
2/3 cup sugar
1/3 cup cocoa powder
1 tsp vanilla ess
a pinch of salt
1/3 cup milk
1 egg yolk
C
1/3 cup cocoa powder
1/3 cup brown sugar
1 1/2 cup hot water
----------------
1. Grease the slow cooker.
2. Mix the A well and set aside.
3. Melt the butter and chocolate over hot water and mix well.
4. Add B, then A and mix thoroughly.
5. Pour the batter into the slow cooker and spread evenly.
6. Whisk C until sugar is dissolved.
7. Pour the mixture over the batter in the slow cooker. Cover and cook on high for 1-2 hours.
8. You will know it is done when the cake starts to pull away from the sides of pot. You will see a layer of molten choc floating... this is correct.
9. Turn off power, and remove lid to let it cook for 25 min. Serve it in bowls topped with ice cream.
I ever hold the entire pot to myself and finish up licking clean spoon! Heavenly! |

its an interesting recipe..but to wait for 2 hours..I think just for one time I would try just to see. If I had to bake the cake often, I would go for the 30 mins to 50 mins cake.
I just wonder if it will work on the rice cooker..that's faster.

The thing is that the low heat from slow cooker makes this recipe more forgiving... say additional 30min will not burn the cake. If you use the rice cooker you may need to be more watchful.
Also, it is a process of anticipation . My son and nieces will patiently gather around the crocker pot, with a spoon in their hand! Just imagine!!! |

sorry if I sounded offending..we all lived in this hurried state of mind these days.
in any case, my slow cooker has a turn dial for HIGH, LOW and AUTO. If I set it to HIGH, the water vaporizes in less than 1 hour. That's if I am cooking soup. So I am quite skeptical with this recipe to turn it to HIGH for 2 hours..
I will try this tomorrow.. _________________ Gina
